Emmett DuBois Dashiell, Sr., son of the late Cornelia J. Dashiell and Charles J. Dashiell, Sr., was born born on 02/22/27, on the Dashiell Farm in Wetipquin, Maryland. Emmett was the third of eight siblings. He transitioned this life on 07/07/03, while serving as aliving testimony to God's grace and mercy.

Emmett or DuBois, as he was known to his family and friends, received his ealry eduxation in the segregated public schools of Wicomico County, Maryland. Starting out in the nuturing "two room" Wetiqpquin Elementary School, on to graduating from Salisbury Colored High School in 1943. He wnet on to further his eduation at Howard University in Washington, D.C. and Boston University. Emmett owned and operated several successful business and real estate ventures. For over 20 years, he was employed by Pioneer Plastics as an excellent and dedicated truck driver. After such time, Emmett volunteered as a transportation engineer for Commmunity Concepts and owned his own business as a Notary Public and Justice of the Peace.

Emmett the storyteller, humorist, great historian, and devout Biblical student "looked to the hills" to uplift and inspire who sought his counsel or simply talked with him. Emmett met no strangers. Everyone has na anecdote to tell about their time with him.

Emmett held several seats on the board of directors with his local Auburn Church of the Nazarene and was involved in several areas of volunteer work. As a prayer warrior, he devoted all efforts to estabish and maintain thriving Sunday Schools. He also sered on the advisory board of Bates College and the Auburn Police Department Task Force.

He is survided by his "Lola:, devoted and loving Leola Virginia Dashiell; nine children; twenty-five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles J. Dashiell, Jr. of Mt. Holly, New Jersey.

Emmett's greatest love was his family. He focused on instilling the value of family, education and the joy of serving God in his children. Emmett's family, recently called "The Dashiell Delegation" include Sandra White of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rebeccas Dashiell-Mitchell of Atlanta, Georgia; Emmett Dashiell, Jr. of Centerville, Virginia; Federick Dashiell of Boston, MA; Belinda Dashiell-Bent of Randolph, MA; Michelle Dashiell-Brown of Riverside, California; Dianna Dashiell-Frost of Glenburn, ME; Eric Dashiell of Hampden, ME, Darlene Dashiell-Frost of Glenburn, ME Two sons, Vaughn Dashiell and Samuel Camper proceeded him in death. A host of others to cherish his memory include nieces, nephews, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, cousins, friends, co-workers, and members of the Nazarene Chruch of Auburn, Maine and Friendship United Methodist Chruch of Wetipquin, Maryland.
